Laetitia de Allegri is a Swiss-born creative designer living and working in London. Her work encompasses a diversity of applications from industrial products and furniture to interior projects, both in private and public commissions. Laetitia places a strong focus on concept generation, graphics, particularly within the field of textiles and rugs specialising in pattern, colour and texture.
She finds the balance between beauty and functionality, sculptural and industrial, employing these aspects within her work in the most simple and pure ways. She enjoys arts and craft as much as industrial manufacturing and integrates both into her work whilst experimenting with various techniques. Laetitia searches for interesting materials and explores different ways of using these materials in a non-traditional approach.
Her work is inspired on one hand by the contrast of textures, shapes and colours found in nature, art, and industry; and on the other hand, from the reflection of different experiences and feelings gathered from our surrounding environment.
Laetitia graduated in 2004 from product design at ECAL in Lausanne, where she immersed herself into the art and design world, creating works that already have been part of numerous exhibitions, amongst others: Milan Furniture Fair 2003; In’nova” Biennale of Lisboa 2004; MUDAC & ELAC Lausanne 2004; Galerie Kreo Paris 2006; worldwide touring exhibition crossing five continents “Anders als Immer”, from Germany to Cairo, Alexandrie, Beirut and the Macedonian Museum of Modern Art.
After graduating she joined BarberOsgerby design studio for six years, where she enhanced her career in product design and furniture as well as re-enforcing her keen eye for colour.
Since then she has been working with various acclaimed design studios such as BarberOsgebry, Marc Newson, Tom Dixon, Alexander Taylor and Map Project Office for international companies such as Flos, Vitra, adidas, The Rug Company, Tai Ping Carpets, Classicon, Established and Sons, Sony and the Olympic Torch.
After working many years within the industry, she has pursued her own work since 2013 and has started new collaborations. Under the name of de Allegri/Feldkamp in collaboration with Eva Feldkamp, they presented their first collection Issue No. 1 at the London Design Festival in 2013 followed by Issue No. 2 at Edit by designjunction in Milan Furniture Fair in 2014.
In September 2014 she will launch a new collection of furniture and products with the designer Matteo Fogale on show at the Herrick Gallery during the London Design Festival.
