Curated by Paul Smith & Friends // meet Laetitia de Allegri
Curated by Paul Smith & Friends participant Laetita de Allegri

In celebration of Frieze Art Fair 2014, art:i:curate teams with Paul Smith to host an innovative exhibition of work by emerging London-based artists that combines Mayfair’s deep-rooted art heritage with the digital world’s trail-blazing creative community.

Open to all, by registering at articurate.net, everyone has the opportunity to express their creativity in front of an audience of both art fans and the industry’s elite.

Swiss born product designer Laetitia de Allegri has a cheeky smile and a big heart.

City: London

Profession: Designer and colour consultant

Secret profession or as a kid I wanted to be: Dancer, hairdresser, cook, and actress

AIC: How would you describe your own personal aesthetic?

LAIt's all about balance: elegant, harmonious, simple, colourful, geometric, natural and timeless.

AIC: How would your friends describe your personality?

LA: From my friend James Diggle: "A social butterfly with a cheeky smile and a big heart".

AIC: What inspires you?

LA: Travelling, nature, people, art, dreams, and my inner child.

AIC: Who's your hero?

LA: No one comes to mind - I believe we are all heroes somehow.

AIC: Do you consider yourself a collector? If so, what do you collect?

LA: Unfortunately yes: I keep way too many things, I have been collecting insignificant things since a kid, like train tickets, paper candies, pencils etc.
I lately started a stone and wooden spoon collection I found during trips. I also have a small but quite good art postcards collection.

AIC: What's your most precious possession?

LAMy imagination and my grandmother's ring.

AIC: What does the term 'curating' mean to you?

LA: Selecting things & the possibility to create something interesting and beautiful that works together and tells a story.

AIC: Why did you get involved in this project?

LAI love the project of art:i:curate, and I admire Paul Smith. One of the things I collect is images, art, colours, photographies. This is something I am doing as I can’t afford to buy real art. I use art:i:curate as a tool to collect images, as well as promoting the work and the artists I enjoy. Great idea and it's fun!

AICHow do you usually take art in?

LAAs an emotion. Going to galleries, museums, and art fairs.

AIC: Describe Paul Smith in three words.

LA: British, smart, colourful.

AICTell me something about yourself - anything.

LA: (Secret) I find it hard to talk about me and answering questions.

See what emerging art Laetitia likes.
