Facescape by Michel Lamoller

art:i:curate artist Michel Lamoller will be showing his work in Westwerk Hamburg's upcoming exhibition 'The less you know the more you see.'

The exhibition opens July 11th and will be on view through 26 July, 2014.

The common element of the three artists is the suggestive play with perspective modes of representation.

The three artists Swen Kählert, Michel Lamoller and Ulrich Riedel raise various questions about sensation of spaciousness. Swen Kählert molds the surfaces of his paintings in meticulous detail and feels the turmoil of each surface down to the smallest one. Michel Lamoller cut, coated and assembled his photographic work to three-dimensional sculptures, which he calls Layerscapes. Lamoller meanders along the border between sculpture and painting as some of the layers are again presented in photographic form as unbroken image. Ulrich Riedel's sculptures appear massive and solid, yet are also fragile and delicate. The ornament and its geometric effects jump at the viewer formally.

Michel Lamoller lives and works in Berlin. See more artworks by Michele Lamoller
